Mis à jour : 9 mars 2020

As some of us very addicted to coffee each day, coffee became a must wherever and whenever we are. So if you are somewhere that no coffee grinder provided?

This is a common problem when you forget or just can't take a grinder with you. The addiction to coffee is like a drug. So let's check what we can do to grind the beans without a grinder.

So firstly let's know about the principle of the grinding process. It is a simple principle that the burrs or blades cut or crush the beans with the sharp edges or high strength. So the other choice will have a similar principle.

1. Mortar and Pestle

This a very ancient method that we used these tools to crush lots of ingredients. No matter it's dried or fresh herb or nuts, the pestle can strike them eventually. The coffee beans are very easy to be ground with these tools. You can check my former blog: Grind coffee beans with mortar and pestle.

2. Blender

Many people all over the world have various kinds of blender in their homes. A blender is a necessary appliance that can do lots of work like making the smoothie, crushing ice, making powders. And the coffee beans are similar to the nuts. So it is very OK to blend coffee beans. You can check the below video for reference.

3. Home food processor

Actually the food processors are a very big family. The blender belongs to this family if you take it strictly. The food processor has a blade connected with a motor that provides the power. And the rotating blade is in charge of cutting and crushing. The outline of the food processor may be different from each other. But the principle is always the same.

4. Hammer

A hammer is a simple tool that we use in our daily life. So I think everyone knows what to do. My suggestion is that put the beans into a sealed bag first before crushing and don't strike too hard because it's better to protect the bag.

5. Stone

I think it's easy to understand I suggest stone. You can imagine the stone as an ugly and rough hammer.

6. Rolling pin

This is a good method too. Just put the beans inside a bag and roll the pin over the bag. Repeat these operations several times.

7. Any hard object can roll over and crush

So here you will understand that all hard object that has a suitable structure can do the work crush, strike or roll can be used to "grind" coffee beans. Like a metal cubic or a heavy hardwood or plastic can also make coffee powders.

There are always more methods to grind coffee beans without the help of a coffee grinder. If you have more ideas about it. You can leave a comment and share it with us and anyone who views this article.
